Is it free to sell on Sokoni?

Yes! Registering and listing your products on Sokoni is completely free. We’re here to support Black entrepreneurs without financial barriers.

How can I participate in pop-up markets?

Register as a vendor on Sokoni and you’ll receive information about upcoming pop-up market opportunities in your area. These are great chances to meet customers face-to-face!

What types of products can I sell?

Sokoni supports a wide range of categories including Fashion, Health & Beauty, Food & Beverages, Home & Furniture, Services, Art & Crafts, Electronics, and more. As long as your products are legal and comply with our terms of service, you’re welcome to list them.

How do I buy products safely?

Search for items, contact the seller via chat or phone, meet in a public place, and pay only after receiving your item. Always check the item before buying and never make advance payments to unknown sellers.

What payment methods are accepted?

Payment methods are arranged directly between buyers and sellers. Most vendors accept e-transfer, cash, and some accept credit cards. Always confirm payment methods with the seller before meeting.

Can I get items delivered?

Delivery options vary by vendor. Some offer local delivery or shipping, while others prefer in-person pickup. Check with individual sellers about their delivery options and any associated fees.

What cities does Sokoni operate in?

Sokoni currently operates in Windsor, London, Kitchener, Hamilton, and Toronto. We’re continually expanding to serve more Black entrepreneurs across Ontario.

What is NCCEEP?

NCCEEP (National Council for Community Economic and Enterprise Partners) is the organization that delivers the Sokoni program. They specialize in supporting economic development within Black communities across Canada.

How is Sokoni funded?

Sokoni is funded through the Black Entrepreneurship Program (BEP) by FedDev Ontario, an agency of the Government of Canada. This funding allows us to offer our services free of charge to Black entrepreneurs.
